My first digital camera was the Fujifilm MX-700. I believe this was the first (or one of the first) "megapixel" cameras. It had a 1.5 megapixel sensor and would capture a 1.3 megapixel photo. Mine was a surprise Christmas gift that made for a number of years of happy shooting. It had a b/w mode and performed fairly well in low light. It is a metal body, heavy camera that feels like a precision instrument. It has a viewfinder and a small color LCD. It didn't cycle or respond too quickly, so it was a challenge to get shots of kids.... But I learned a lot from this cam and with practice shot many priceless photos of my children, landscapes, and macros. It has a manual mode and good (although small) glass. It is still functional, except for the flash.
